The Egger company has carried out extensive tests on the matter. Basically, it can be said that the melamine surfaces are largely resistant to all common disinfectants. Details can be found in the following document:
Disinfectants with a high alcohol content are generally not suitable for veneer surfaces. However, occasional use will not cause any damage to the surface, but only if the surface is only briefly exposed to the disinfectant.
If regular disinfection of the veneer surface is necessary, the paint manufacturer ADLER recommends only using disinfectants based on water solutions. Suitable are e.g. 2.5% chloramine T solutions.
We hope that we have provided you with useful information for you. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at any time.
